Default Ambient light package

Hello all,
Currently in the market for a 971 turbo (s) and hoping to join the family soon. However, the car that I’m considering does not have ambient light package, which is on my must-have list. Is that something we can retrofit ourselves? If not, is there any light at all? What about the two white plastic strip? Console, overhead, footwell, etc? If anyone can share what the car would look like without the package, that will be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hmm. Mine has it, but I’m not sure which lights are part of it. If it’s only the door mounted lights that change color I’d skip it.

Sorry i cant confirm.

Yah, I’d skip it if it only gives you options on colors However, for a 200k car, it would be a little ridiculous if there is no light at all without the package.

Thanks for the reply guys! But, what are the normal lighting, and do the two white plastic strips light up at all?

Pictures of normal lighting would be very helpful. Thanks guys!

what i like about the ambient lighting is how the borders of the speakers have a light. otherwise it is an option one can easily miss out on.

I have it. And only to make up the value of my car to the value of my biz partners car.

Frankly, its one of those things you put on the colour you like and leave it. In 15 months I have altered it once, from blue to green, after a couple of days I changed it back.

The door lights, the footwell and the strip around the roof control panel change.

when you turn the car off or might be when you open the door they go white as well - the standard colour.

Don't the speakers have a white light as standard ?

Yeah speakers have ambient light.

The lighting is subtle during the day but at night it really pops. I like it because you can change the mood of the interior.

So the only difference is the speaker light? The rest of the lights are the same but just one color?

I don’t have it on my 2017 4S panamera. The 2 white strips don’t light up at all in my car. Not even with the doors open. There is no light on the speaker housings at all.

I have it on my Turbo, it nice but not a must have. I set it to red and have left it for months. you can set the color in the footwell, speaker outline, top cluster overhead lights, rear footwell and side of transmission tunnel . the option lets you adjust the intensity of each area independently.

I’m trying to figure out the standard ambient lighting...all my 2018 ST ehybrid has is door pocket lights. Are there footwell, overhead and/or center console side lights standard in white? It’s very dark in the interior. How do you control them? Also has anyone retrofitted the ambient lighting plus package?
