Thoughts on 2015 GTS
I've been lurking while we were trying to figure out what car to get next. We have found a 2015 locally WP0AF2A74FL080954 with 32k miles for $65k. We are still undecided on the Sapphire Blue. Carfax shows front end damage. My first question, is there a way to determine what the damage actually was? If it was typical parking damage (carless parking) I'm fine with that. If it was more severe damage, I'm not interested in dealing with that. Would a PPI (yes, I will do this on any pre-owned) be able to tell me what I need to know? I was able to find out that the in-service date was July 2016, so there should be a couple of months of warranty left (will look for an extended warranty).
Thank you for your time,

Hey. I am a long-time lurker on this site and finally joined. Just saw your message. Coincidentally, I have a 2015 Panamera GTS I may be selling very soon (I have a new car on order). Mine only has about 25,000 miles. It is white. MSRP was $133,630. Price will likely be a bit higher than the blue one you're looking at. If interested, feel free to PM me. Best.

Sounds a bit overpriced given the accident history. For reference, my PTT had an MSRP of $159k and I acquired it for $56k w/ 28,000 miles on the clock. For $65k you should be able to find a lower mileage example that hasn't been wrecked. You're in Turbo territory w/ that budget...

^^^^ I agree
I don't know why anyone would spend $65,000-$75,000 on a gen 1 GTS when you can find Turbos for less than that with easily. That deal isn't too bad if you love the color, and the car is clean. If you can talk to the original owner or find the actual service history, that might help, but the next prospective buyer may only focus that there is an accident at all. Accidents of any kind reduce the value no matter how minor.

Differences between the gts and turbo have been widely discussed on this board so I won’t begin that conversation again here. But as with most things it ultimately comes down to preference. I opted for the gts and have no regrets. And would even do so at the same price point.

We have an E92 M3 that we are selling/trading and with the tax laws in WA it's worth about $3k in taxes. So I would prefer to stay local which unfortunately is a higher priced market. Any savings purchasing across country will be eaten by taxes and transport fees.
There are currently 2 Turbos (under $80k) listed that are within 500 miles both of which have 40k + miles on them.
Hope this explains why anyone would look at a GTS in the 65-75k range.

I’m about two months in, and I recently got my 2014 GTS (MSRP 134) with 45K miles from a Porsche Dealer CPO for 57. So I think the choice of car is great I love it, but I agree the price is a little high.

I should clarify one point, the carfax says 'no accidents reported', 'damage reported, damage to front'. So we'll see. No decision has been made at this point. In the mean time we'll keep looking.

one of the vin checking sites I tried put that car right in the middle of the price bell curve, the Sapphire Blue is an incredible color, does it have the features you want?
Your requirements for instate purchase (totally understandable) kind of limits you, if the car ticks off most of the right boxes I wouldn't sweat +-$10k - but that me.

For comparison, here is info on my newly purchased GTS. Also, you can call Porsche Roadside Assistance and speak to a person who can confirm the In Service date. I would recommend a CPO if you can find it since these cars seem to be a bit more complex!! It may cost more but two years peace of mind is a nice thing.
As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of this one owner 2015 Panamera GTS 15,800 miles In Service Date 11/30/2015 with CPO warranty! The link for the car can be found here, and I paid $69,899 plus $695 dealer fee. The car was lease turn in local owner/buyer, and it was on the dealer lot for 2-3 months before I bought it. I must say I am very impressed with the car so far, and I hope to enjoy it for years to come!

+1 for CPO. I picked of a 2016 CPO Panamera GTS with 8800 miles for $80K. MSRP was $147K. Happy to let the first owner take the depreciation hit and very happy to have a CPO warranty that goes until Nov. 2022.

We finally had a chance to drive the the Saphire Blue car and it wasn't a) the right car or b) the right color. We really like the color, just not on a car. We got home from that and this one pops up as a CPO car with 14,500 miles on it at a price that was acceptable to us. In service was June 2015.
