Default Fault Headlight Control

Hey all! Got our 2012 Panamera 4. I had a corner light out, and put in brand new bulbs. Now they come on, move (left, right, up and down) and then suddenly this "Fault Headlight Control" appears on the dash. I scanned the system, and these 2 random "codes" came up. C12024 and C11000.

I can clear the codes, but it comes right back.

Is this a "dealer only" thing? I feel comfortable digging into my Porsches (new suspension on 911 C4, new headunit on Cayenne, and new AC condenser and radiator on this Panamera), so I'd hate to have to pay a dealership to just push a button...!

Fault Headlight Control

C12024

C11000

Thanks in advance!!

Well my first step would be to make sure both headlights are working. Then open up the left side headlight housing and make sure everything is plugged in and there's no bent or loose pins on the main power connector.

Thanks for the response!

Yeah, all the lights "work" (after replacing the one bad corner light on the passenger side) When I replaced it, I ended up cleaning BOTH headlight assemblies, contact cleaner on all wires and plugs. Now they all come on, move around, and then that warning pops up. AFTER that warning, neither of the corner lights work...

Yes, same bulbs. No led or anything.

odd, with the voltage being low thought it might be some higher power aftermarkets - how did the wires look? could you have a break in one?

Nothing obvious. I'll recheck tomorrow. Figured maybe I'd hear a chorus of "yep, needs to be set at dealership" or something... Lol .

I would go reseat wiring inside headlight, then make sure socket to headlight plus the tube both plugged in right on install of headlight into car.

Heading down there now. I know on my Cayenne I needed to actually ziptie the plugs together for this same "contact" reason. Thanks again!

Actually, to be even more precise in my stupidity, it wasn't a blown fuse.

When we bought the car, it had been hardwired for a radar detector. The only part left was the wiring from the fuse box to the center console. So I decided to remove that wiring one day. They had used a fuse jumper on the #14 fuse. I pulled the fuse and jumper and cleaned up the wiring. Then I quickly stuck the fuse back in. BUT NOT IN TO #14... Just below it.

So yeah, once I went to check the fuse and saw it missing, it was a quick fix... lol

Thanks all for the help though. Next time, more coffee before repairs...

I had the same fault, plus a few others on my 911 C2S.
Was about to go ordering lots of replacement ECMs - and then I saw your post.
Checked the fuses and sure enough one was blown.
Replaced it, and problem solved.
Codes were C12024, and C12025.
Thanks so much to all the people on here posting there problems and solutions.
