Wipers shot to top position and just stopped...
Wipers are NOT going back down.
Got in the car yesterday after shopping. Backed up and started driving forward. The wipers suddenly popped in to the fully "top" position and then just stayed there. I thought I hit the wiper stalk, but it didn't do anything. Got home and the wiper motor fuse (30amp) was blown. I was able to gently move the wipers back at the motor, and then I put in the new fuse, they shot right back up to the top position and then clicked while the arm was bumping the motor housing. I pulled the fuse before popping that one too. I have no codes to clear, and really would like to get the wipers working as we live here in Colorado and the weather can change at any second... Google searches have come up empty, so it seems this is not a common issue. (Except to make sure the hood is closed fully or they might not work, which isn't the issue here).
Thanks in advance!!

to me sounds like motors keep going after hit the stop, causing overload and then fuse blows.
Question I would ask is has anyone tried to adjust wiper arms recently? you, a shop that worked on area and adjusted, etc?
From what I understand motors stop travel before they hit the stop and return back due to programming. so for some reason yours keep going. wrong adjust is quick reason, cant really think of others.

Ah I just mentioned in another thread a few minutes ago that I had a "wipers stopping right in front of me" while it was pouring rain issue. No blown fuse: I could gently, manually, put them back to normal position but then as soon as I'd try again, they'd stop. Don't remember if they'd always stop at the top or not but I remember they'd always stop during the first time they'd go up.
I had a warranty at Porsche ("Porsche Approved" warranty it is called in Europe) so it was fully covered by the warranty. I know they changed the motor and then called me and phoned me and said they had to order another piece. But I don't have any invoice or anything as it's all covered by the warranty: so they don't give price / part numbers / etc. AFAICT.
Can't help more. They told me it was really extremely rare.

Well I am just excited to hear from ANYBODY that this has happened before to be honest. lol. No other stories like this on the internet that I could find. I have a new (used) motor coming soon and will hopefully just have to swap it out (and not require programming). Thanks for the reply!

I hope you'll fix your issue soon.
