In the process of purchasing a panney turbo with 11 months
left on CPO warranty from Porsche dealer. According to dealer if I get. It Cpo'd for another 2 years the warranty clock starts over and does not add to the remainder of the existing warranty.
Curious to get some ideas about this issue.

I bought my 4 with CPO + 2 years extension from the dealer in Feb 2018. The expiration of the warranty is based on the warranty start date for the car as new which was March 19, 2014. The total coverage of my warranty expires on March 19, 2022 (4 years original, 2 years CPO and 2 years CPO extension).

If there's still original warranty left, CPO adds two years. If not, it's two years from the new CPO date, not added to a car that's already CPO

 

My understanding with Porsche, and many other CPO programs, the CPO extends the original warranty 2 years from the original service date. That's it. Doesn't when its CPO ed. If it was already CPO previously, I would doubt Porsche would CPO it for another 2 years. The dealer might be offering its own extended warranty that is not specifically backed by Porsche, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just check on the company they are offering.

 

Paul you are wrong. They can CPO a car that's been out of warranty and you'll get two years. They can also re-CPO a car as long as it still meets the requirements.

 

I guess my question is, does it get added on to the original remaining cpo??

 

I'm fairly certain it doesn't, it would start a new CPO term.

Current model year vehicles and those of eight previous model years with less than 100,000 miles are eligible for enrollment.

From Porsche's website. CPO used to expire at 100k, but not any more, just the eligibility to certify expires then.
