Panamera Service Intervals and Details
I thought I would collect this for ease of use by forum members. Hope it helps with questions like 'when should I do this', or what kind of maintenance at xxxx miles.
All of the below pertains only to B markets. Porsche organizes countries it sells its cars to, into markets, classified as A, B, or C. USA falls into the B market category, and since I reside there, below info will be only for B markets. If you live in other market, I am sure you can approximate durations, etc, but from what I see, there is language stating countries with leaded fuel do their maintenance on intervals that are shorter than in B markets. So please go check your market or take the info as an approximation only. Also, I have Panamera Turbo, so these intervals are for this model. Most models follow same if not very similar schedule though. B market countries: Armenia, Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, Bulgaria, Estonia, French Polynesia, GhanaIndonesia, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Qatar, KuwaitLatvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Moldova, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Oman, Philippines, Reunion, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, SyriaTaiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai), Vietnam, Belarus, Cyprus. Other noteworthy remarks from reviewing the maintenance schedule: - PDCC reservoir change replacement recommended only for C markets (non USA), at 90k km or 54k miles, then again at 240k km or 144k miles or after 16 years - PDK transmission oil change mentioned only for B markets (Panamera S E-hybrid, Panamera S hybrid only), at 90k km or 54k miles, then again at 240k km or 144k miles or after 16 years. I will be checking the maintenance schedule book inside the car to compare. If there are differences, I can chime in. This is really surprising. There are many places where PDK, PDCC reservoir is called for after 60k. I do not see that in the FSM. Some food for thought. |

I came across this dealer checklist which I guess they can supply to customers last week. (attached)
It does mention replacing the PDCC reservoir, PDK fluid and supercharger belt (S hybrid) at 60K. |
Im sure if done, wont hurt the car. I did see PDCC res. change at 60k for thr s hybrid and e hybrid models.
Also, C market countries (non USA) do this at 54k miles. The non V8 models of Panamera do not have PDK as standard, and have different transmission, which does have maintenance schedule different from PDK. I noticed from Cayenne that they modify service sometimes. Initially stated coolant is sealed and does not require changing, few years later they said change every 4 years. PDCC res is on my list in next month or two.

and forgot to mention, the maintenance booklet supplied with the car recommended the PDK service at 60k as well. I guess the only other choice in the 970 generation besides the PDK was a 6 speed manual in some markets, and the 8 speed tiptronic on the S hydrid. Does the second generation 971 only come in one flavor - the 8 speed PDK?

From what I saw, 970 generation of Panamera was available in following flavors:
- Tiptronic transmission (V6 models standard, hybrid models) - PDK 7 gear transmission - Manual transmission - in some markets and models only I decided to go on the following schedule:

So what I've learned, the Panamera debuted in 2010 with a single drive train (V8 with 7 speed PDK) with the S, 4S and Turbo models. In 2011, the V6 was added with the introduction of the base and P4 models. With that, the manual transmission became available only in the base and S RWD models. The new P4 offered only the PDK tranny as of course the 4 wheel drive requires it. Finally, for 2012 the Turbo S, S-hybrid, and diesel were added to the lineup, the latter two utilizing the 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission which were the only two Panamera models it was offered in. (I haven't research the engine/transmission combos for the 970.2 years...I assuming probably the same as 970.1) EDIT: the 970.2 series (2014-2016 models) dropped the manual transmission, only offering the 7-speed PDK in most models, with the Tiptronic as the sole choice in the hybrid and diesels. The second generation 971 of courses simplifies the transmission saga as its the 8 speed PDK, and that's it. |
Interesting issue on the A,B,C markets.
I had to have my instrument cluster replaced due to failed oil temp gauge last year (under warranty). Noticed that the oil change interval after the next oil change was set to 15,000 miles (A market??). The dealership just recoded the cluster this past week while I was in for another non-related issues to market B. All intervals are now set as they should be for a USA market vehicle (match the table above). Just a reminder to anyone who has a cluster replaced -- make sure the market is coded correctly - it appears "A" market is the default on a new cluster. Chuck 2014 Panamera 4S |
I wonder if anyone has a list of the countries in A: and C: markets, or a link to where the information may be.
Thanks in anticipation.:) |
The list is in the service manual. I will try to dig that up some time.
There, dug it up. Here is the list of countries for each country code... https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...60183e166c.png |
Serpentine Belt
My 2013 Panamera S has 50,500 miles and I carry the replacement serpentine in the truck. Any suggestions on proper age/mileage to consider a change out?

Any guidance on the OEM v6 battery life span? And possibly where to buy it from? Seems like a simple swap but I read somewhere that the dealer needs to reset the car’s software for the battery to charge properly - could anyone confirm?

I know old post, but having serpentine in trunk will be of no use once belt goes on the road. With such tight space and I believe need to remove bumper, you wont have tools to do on road. Fine are the food old days of swap right on street, at least with these machines.
so if you reach the mileage, inspect, and if see start of wear, just replace to avoid unpleasant situation of being stuck.
