Default Trunk release interior

Just picked up my first Posrsche - a 2010 Panamera 4S. Love the car and this will be my daily driver.
Dropped off kids at sports and couldn’t find a trunk release. Found that the button on the drivers door where it should be is blank. Was this really an option on a 118k car? I didn’t think it was to inconvenient and kids could open the trunk from the back of the car. Tried this yesterday and it appears the car needs to be turned off for that to work?
i have found a window switch panel that includes the trunk release online. Does anyone know if I replace the panel if that switch will function. Curious if the wiring is all in place and simply needs the switch/button installed.
Thanks

Guessing it's an option. Maybe part of the premium package. My car has it - 2013 S

I can't imagine that being an option either. Maybe its not the original fob? Do you have two fobs and both like that?
