Default Upcoming decision

Good morning! Couldn't sleep with random thoughts swirling about in my head. In all likely hood I have totaled my 2004 911 earlier this week when i hit some black ice as I was accelerating down the interstate on ramp..."kissed" the guard rail real good I guess.

My wife had some time to kill at the end of her workday on Thursday and just so happened on a 2012 Panamera 4 in town for sale. Very nice condition (I haven't seen it yet) with 76K miles on it. 2 owners with a clean record, I think the only major thing out of the ordinary noticed on the carfax was the replacement of a lower suspension arm. Being in our 60's, we had talked about that maybe our next car would be a little more comfortable sedan with an auto, so the Panamera certainly fits the bill. I'll probably go out and see it this afternoon. What issues should I look for. How has reliability been in this model? I had picked up my 911 back in 2012 with 80K on it, and have spent around $15 grand on it since. So needless I'm a little leery about buying another high mileage Porsche (but you know I want to! )

So any input about your ownership and potential problems to look for would be much appreciated!

Looks nice, rides great. Put a deposit on it pending my insurance settlement.

Looks very nice and hopefully congratulations! Just myself bought a 2012 Turbo-S at 66,000 miles.

Make sure they have completed the cam controller bolt recall. Don't drive it until they have. Mine failed and took out my engine. Replaced as a part of the recall, but still a pain and dangerous as well. Otherwise, fantastic cars. Most comfortable cruiser I have owned, decent fuel economy and pretty reliable other than that issue. I would still get a warranty if you can just in case. There have been some PASM failures and a couple of PDK's have tanked. Those are pretty expensive to fix. PDK is about as much as an engine.

The local Porsche dealer confirmed what I found when I entered in the VIN over at the Porsche website - no recall on this car.. It was delivered in June 2012, so could that mean the problem was already addressed at the factory? Any other late 2012 MY owners here that found out the same?
