My July delivery Panamera hybrid with the same issues had whatever parts replaced under warranty however the problem still persisted..My month old Panamera has had no issues so far...fingers crossed..!.I still believe its a common factory fault on early Panameras where the actual fuel flap is misaligned ie the flap is set too far towards the rear so when the release catch is pressed the flap just catches on the edge..I found this out when i was stranded and i used my credit card to prise it open...This worked every time..

Visually there is no difference with two parts, but some dimensions etc is defenitly different on new module.
Anyway they have to fix it under warranty.

had same issue on my 2017 Panamera 4...also the outer body colour flap didn't seem to sit flush as it should with rear haunch. OPC replaced the whole plastic section of the fuel filler flap basically everything that sits beneath the body coloured cover. now it is not only a LOT easier and more consistent to open but it also sits flush rest of that panel as it should.

Had the same issue on my 2 week old car. My wife was almost stranded and called me, quick search and found this thread and called her back. On my first fuel up it seemed odd and maybe the colder temps made this more pronounced. Either way, next service I'll have them look at it as it's annoying on a 100K+ car.

Absolutely! Good luck with getting it sorted out.
Within the next few weeks I'm trading my 2017 Panamera 4 for a new 911 Carrera T. Looking forward to much easier fill ups at the petrol station!

Look at the catch sticking out on the body, not the flap.
Above it and below it is a slightly raised part.
That needs filing down a little bit then there will be no issues.
My biz partners was bad, Porsche Leeds filed them off and no problems since. Sept 2017 car.
They did it on my Dec.17 car as a matter of course without asking, and no issues since.
Anyone reading this in future if your stuck - inside the boot behind the material panel is a red hook to manually undo the flap.
There's a hook inside the boot for the electric flap too.

I think it's the area just above and just below the round cylinder-shaped part. Looks like all of the filing down has already been done...
