Default PCCB issues and swap?

I have written before about my issues with the ceramic brakes in my GTS...
I find them too sensitive and grabby for my driving style. I have a 993 and a Boxster and have no issues with those brakes. I have a friend with the identical Panamera GTS, but with Turbo brakes. I have driven his it is absolutely fine. My mechanic says my PCCB brakes are not defective and all the PCCB are like that.
So....has anyone swapped out ceramic brakes for non ceramic?
Racebrakes.com has high performance non ceramic discs that they state are a direct replacement for the ceramic discs...no modifications needed and they use the existing (yellow) calipers. It is an expensive ($4000) project, but might be worth it it solves my issue.
My other options are to replace the entire brake system or replace the car.
