Thoughts on the upcoming ZR1? C&D just posted some spy shots which detail it aero --> http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...py-photos-news
Porsche has always been iconic and something I've wanted but you got to hand it to Chevy and Dodge (ACR Viper) to set the performance-per-dollar bar so high.
I will still go through with trying to get a 991.2 GT3 but stuff like this is tempting since it will be priced a tad less with so much performance.

I definitely give respect to the Viper and Vette. Lots of performance for the dollar. It's American 'muscle' which has its own 'coolness' factor in my opinion.
However, I value the build quality and finer materials used by Porsche. And the exclusivity of the GT cars is attractive to me as well.

Let's see if it can do more than a few laps without heat soaking.
If my money I go viper.... that thing is a beast. Want to win the de with a street car? Show up in a viper acr.

For my knowledge, how exclusive are the ACR and past ZR-1s? They seem to be shorter production runs so I would assume there are less around compared to the GT3/rs, but maybe I'm wrong. Porsche is definitely more exclusive in its own right, just speaking model vs. model.

When I was first searching for a steer legal track toy I was evaluating everything...and the heat soak issue QUICKLY eliminated the C7 Z06 (I was only buying new).
And the Viper ACR, IMO, requires another Level of driving skill being a manual transmission. Something that fast with a manual was IMO not a good FIRST track toy.
