Mercedes 500e W124
I'm looking at kind of a garage find 500e that has been sitting for a couple of years. Immediately known issue is it's not holding a battery charge.
I'd love to hear from anyone with experience with these cars, or with what to watch out for in any car that's been sitting for an extended period.
Thanks in advance.

Wiring is almost sure to be rotten. The insulation in the wires doesn't last even on cars that are actively being maintained. You are in for many shorts and electronic issues, not surprised about the battery.

A big job. Rodents or no rodents, the materials were/are biodegradable.

you need a good ppi done. I think these cars had soy based wiring harness's which degrade due to heat. The benz forum is a better place for excellent intel. 92 was the first year I think for this body style, not sure. Check for leaks in the differential
