Cya @ the track

I don't think the C7 is ugly -- just the one I saw needed inches of lowering to get a proper stance, had way too much chrome and distractions, and was the wrong color. I asked the reps what's up with the stance and whether the Z51 package would lower it and they just shrug their shoulders. One of them guessed that the Z51 didn't include a lower stance. I found that whole experience weird on more than one level.

What does it say when street rubber, horse and buggy springs and ancient engine tech can outlap a six figure Porsche on sticky tires?

Reminds of the local bicycle race I once saw when I was kid. This one kid shows up with a $2K bike decked out head to toe in pro gear..only to have his *** handed to him by the scrappy looking kid on the $200 bike.

It says that six figure Porsches are underpowered.

450 bhp / 450 lbs. torque in a Cayman, anyone?

Please gawd, let Porsche come to their senses.

What does it say when a $60K radical can smoke all of them.

I'm just not as excited about Porsche as I use to be. I try and keep thinking is there something wrong with me...am I missing it all...do I not understand Porsche? I believe it's not just me anymore. I am losing the excitement for the Porsche brand.

Hopefully some bean counter at VW decides to put the 3.4 liter V8 from the rs spyder LMP2 car into a Cayman in an attempt to pay off the R&D investment. I mean LOOK at this beautiful motor... without a car to put it in. Tears.

GT3 used to be the raw alternative. Now they're becoming sanitized like everything else. Don't expect to see 991 GT3 outnumbering 996/997 GT3's at track days anytime soon, quicker Ring times or not.

Then again maybe we should all go into our local dealers and throw a wobbly......

I am not as hardcore as some of you gentlemen...but I have some "weight" and I did try the wobbly at my dealer where they know me...the issue is that they have plenty of sales these days and for every guy throwing a wobbly there are 3-4 new guys walking in and buying their cars! Cayennes, Panameras, ..., all TIP most of them Corp. leases...

Of course. My wobbly comment was tongue in cheek. On the other hand the issue of more buyers than cars was the same for the 997 GT3 so it's really irrelevant in terms of the discussion regarding VW's decision not to offer a manual on the 991 GT3.

Dr. A.P. would say the driver is under-talented... which is why they must charge you so many Euros...

If VW are going to counter, they better bring some unpossible performance.
A really fast C7 variant on really fast rubber with a really fast driver?
Time to head for zee bunker.
