Default Anyone driving a C6 Vette ?

Just curious. I had a C5, and it just felt big and sloppy. Now that the C6's are coming down in price, they are pretty tempting. Sharp looks, 400 hp, improved interior, etc. I'll take mine with a 6 speed, Z51 suspension, black with Gunmetal wheels.

Fast, but very plastic.

What kind of suspension did the C5 have? The base suspension sucks, the Z51 suspension is a step in the right direction but can still be improved upon.

+1 Number one complaint with them. Great motor, platform, exterior - CHEAP interior.

C5Z here. Don't think it feels sloppy at all. Bigger than the 951, and the steering in the 951 had a little more feedback, but not sloppy by any means.

Cheap interior I agree with... they have to cut corners somewhere, right?

My father has a c6 and it is a very nice car... To me it still feels big but the power gives it a huge fun factor, nice in looks and styling, and the handling was very good. The man thing I hate is the transponder key, I just hate how technology is so involved in newer cars that it makes it a pain if you hold onto it for longer than 5-10yrs.

I love my C5, I would only trade it for a C6Z06. It is crazy the amount of power you can get of these cars for the money invested. Pick up a C5 (under 20K all day long). Add another $5-7k in parts and you have a reliable 400RWHP daily driver. I went into the C5 after years E36-46 era BMWs, and while the interior is no where near as nice, it's perfectly acceptable. There are much worse interiors out there and the C6 took a nice step in the right direction in regards to interior quality. Plus, how often are you going to stop and admire the interior of your car when you can mash the gas pedal and enjoy the view out the windsheild?

Oh look, an excuse to post a picture of my co-pilots

I too was trying to decide between a C5 Z06 and a 951. i ended up with a 951. From what I recall, your 951 (pre-accident) had similar mods to mine (Rogue MAF, T3/T4R BB turbo etc). How does the Z06 compare to the 951 in terms of power, handling, fun factor, build quality, ease of maintenance etc.

My modded 350RWHP 951 (Vitesse stage3,wasted spark, exhaust, LSD, suspension, etc many many mods) was nicer and faster than most.

However my procharged C5 Z06.............absolutely no comparison whatsoever.
Faster(at any venue), more reliable, more creature comforts, etc, etc.

Can't say that I have spent much time in standard C5, but the Z06 is far from "big and sloppy" feeling

I rented a base C6 and beat the **** out of it for about 900 miles of various driving conditions. Power delivery was very torquey; but it seemed to get from point A to point B about as fast as my modded 350 hp CS. Steering felt numb but had plenty of grip. Chassis felt like it was twisting some to handle the torque. Had lots of storage room like a 951. Faster than my previous 951's though.

Overall it felt like a "muscle car" when on the power and not a "sports car." Off the power it felt like a normal boring sedan. In my CS, the car feels special driving around at any speed. I only enjoyed driving the C6 when going fast.

$5-7k? You mean 5-700.

A new cam and a tune will damn near get you 400rwhp, especially if it's a later C5.

I used to own a C5 Z06. Not sloppy at all. Yes the interior was cheap feeling but like someone said, the cost cutting has to come from somewhere.

The 04-06 GTO's have a nicer interior than C5 vettes. I think vettes are alright, but I still like the look of the 944 more.
