I presume that's the real deal?

Just saw a Gulf Blue, modern, GT the other day. Gorgeous car.

I can almost guarantee that it is a replica.

I'd say its a superformance MKII. Still approximately a $100k+ vehicle

Interesting. Never knew that GT 40 replicas existed. That may explain why it's in a parking garage and not stored in a vacuum.

Yeah, a real one would be a rare sight indeed. They have got to be $1mm plus.

I drove a superformance GT40 at an event about a year ago. Replica or not, this thing was a barrel of laughs. The one I drove had a nice side oiler 427 with the "bundle of snakes" headers and man did it sound good. Not a car for a night on the town or even a long cruise, but holy hell would it be fun for short blasts.

And the looks beat a Carrera GT any day....

Just donned my flame-retardant suit and zipped out of the room.

I never really cared for the looks of the carrera GT either. I will say the pedal box in the carrera GT is a thing of beauty.

Just spoke with a friend of mine here, the car belongs to one of our VPs, I guess he came in really early today (before 6AM) and had open road to play with. I'll try and get more detials, my guess it is a replica that he uses for the track. still looks like a fun ride.

Just goes to show that all corporate big guys aren't all bad...At least this one has good taste when it comes to transportation. Inquiring minds want to know what else he drives.

My bet is a Superformance, too. Stunning and bad-***, nonetheless.

One can argue the point forever, and they do on the GT40's Forum, but technically speaking the Superformance GT40's are a licensed continuation of the original GT40 series cars and are listed in the Shelby American World Registry.

The MKII series will generally have a big block Ford (FE) engine installed.

Nice car! MK II is my favorite GT40. That's a replica of the 1st place car at 66 Le Mans driven by Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren

This is the real one at the Shelby museum. I think it has changed hands for close to $10 million
