Default Second vehicle options

Just waiting for my 911T to arrive in a few weeks and trying to work out what to do with my current RS6.
I have an eager buyer willing to take the lease off my hands and pay all the transfer costs.
We have 2 kids, age 6 and 9 so while the 911 with work fine for them now (no car seats required) I still need something for family trips, winter stuff and moving bigger things from time to time.
I love the RS6 but it's overkill for that task, thinking of getting a used A6 allroad which will have even more versatility.
What are others doing for a second vehicle? I hate SUVs so that is out of the question as the 2nd vehicle.
I suppose I could just run the 911 all-year-round but I will be very limited in some of the aforementioned situations.
Wife does have an SUV so while that could work in a pinch, she can't drive manual so car sharing isn't going to work.

I have an E 450 wagon…had since 2022 and now 75,000 miles…absolutely love it. Not one issue and tires lasted 55,000 miles…where do you find that!

My dual duty cars are the 992 and my E63 wagon. You're right that the A6 allroad or E450 wagon will do 95% of the job, so it's up to you.

I cannot imagine going through life without a truck in the driveway.

The A6 Allroad sounds like a great choice. I’m not a fan of SUVs either, but I ended up biting the bullet and buying a Honda Passport as our family vehicle. My kids are younger than yours, so I figured the family car would take a beating and I didn’t want to spend too much on something that would inevitably get destroyed by children.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many wagon options left in Canada.

I know you said you hate SUVs but you really should just "consider the possibilities" and test drive a Macan EV. REALLY nice second vehicle and once you drive an EV you quickly realize how nice they are as a daily driver. Infrastructure limitations can still make long distance traveling a bit of a challenge but is easy enough to overcome with some planning.

E63 is great. So is F90 M5.

I was going to recommend SUV's though, specifically Lexus, as I value reliability and cheaper running costs in a daily driver.

F90 M5 is a fantastic vehicle. That said, I don't see that as being much different than your RS6.

Ditto on the Macan EV. I've got it as our grocery getter and really love it.

My second has been the MB S580 for almost three years now, alongside the SL63 and the .2 GTS. I honestly can’t say enough good things about it.

The trunk is huge, and the pass-through lets you carry ridiculously long items that wouldn’t even fit in my wife’s X5. It’s the best daily car I’ve ever owned, and I can’t imagine not having an S-Class in my garage.

I know it’s not the first car people think of as “versatile,” but it’s more practical than you’d expect: adjustable ride height by about 2 inches, all-wheel drive, a deep, cavernous trunk, real space for five adults, tons of storage cubbies, and every creature comfort you could want. On top of that, prices are below the high-performance wagons, it rides like a dream, and the handling with the optional e-ABC is unbelievable.

Another vote in the EV column for a daily driver.

I agree with the concept of an EV (or PHEV) as a great daily.

My 2024 Range Rover PHEV has been an amazing comfort contrast and oddly more reliable than my 2025 T (small things). I’m sadly to the point of just choosing the Rover when my wife and I go places together, but it does make the drives in the T alone more special.

My wife and/or I use this 2-door Heritage Bronco when not in my 911. Not sure if it’s technically considered an SUV, but it’s a fantastic second-vehicle choice, especially if you get bad weather where you live.

OK, OK, it’s a Ford, but it’s been great and super fun to drive.

I have a 22 Macan S as a daily. Originally bought it for the wife trying to recreate the nostalgia from my 15 Macan Turbo, but she's moved on to a 26 X5. The ICE Macan platform is long in the tooth, but there's nothing else that really excites me in a similar price range.

Personally, I'd love to get an EV as a daily, but feel like it's too much of a compromise with our current lifestyle as the battery tech isn't where it needs to be for me yet.
