I know this is not an Audi forum, but I was thinking of trading my car in for the last year Audi RS6. I am 60 ish years old and do not have a family , but I think that is one of the most beautiful cars on the road. Also, the last year of production. Any members have experienced this car’s ownership or thoughts on trading my car for it?
Have you searched the archives? There are several threads on dd's in various forums on rennlist, and the RS6 is definitely one of the favorites. I haven't had one, but have certainly thought about it...a lot lol.
It's a lovely people mover, eats highway miles like nothing. But it's very boring to drive. We like ours, but it's not a lifelong keeper by any stretch of the imagination. Just a good car. Gets more attention than my bright blue 992 when we're out and about, too.
I had several performance Audis in my past and just looked at the RS3 for my wife. While I appreciate Audi’s performance and interior I just find Audi has become rather plain, almost boring to me over the years. Just my personal opinion. Probably great people mover, every day car but just not that exciting to me anymore.
PS: I am not a big EV fan (yet) but find the RS E-tron GT more exciting than the RS6
I had a 530xi T that I loved which had nowhere near the capabilities of the RS6 Avant. I would love one but if asked to give up my 911T for one? Hard no.
The only issue is it is just my wife and I that would drive the car( mostly I by myself). Our kids are all grown up.
I daily C8 RS6 performance, 992 is for a fun drive only. if I had to choose one only, it would be RS6 but expect nothing like 911 in driving experience.....
I looked very hard at them a couple months ago. Drove a few 2025-2026 models and tried to get excited about them, but just couldn't...I'm sure they're fast when stomping on it, but driving sensibly (which I would most of the time) with the salesman in a brand new car they did not feel at all special. And even at those speeds I could feel the traditional Audi weight bias over the front. They do look great, though, and ticked a lot of boxes for me personally. Drive one and see what you think...a lot of people think they're great.

Interesting point, I never actually drove one, maybe I was just lusting after the body style which is incredible.
I decided to pick up a DBX707 last week as a dd, and this thing has been pretty impressive. Barring the usual software hiccups and gremlins you get used to in a British car, it makes for a pretty fun daily.
I have a 24 RS6 that I have had for about 2 years now. I really like it. It looks great and I actually prefer the interior of this version. I did take the extra step of tuning it and adding exhaust and intake but those are not necessary to enjoy the car. It's engaging enough for me for DD duty and my grandkids love to "go fast!" in it as much as possible. It's not a forever car, as mentioned above but I'll keep it a couple more years for sure. PFA.
I have an RS6 performance as a daily, and tbh it took me a few months to appreciate what it is and what it can do to the point that I was looking at replacements early on. I’ve had it from new for 10 months now and it’s absolutely fantastic.
You have to get the settings right, I solely drive in either dynamic or RS mode now. I found the ‘auto’ drive mode to be numb and pretty boring.
Dynamic with gearbox in normal mode for everyday getting about and switch to sport gearbox when I want to have some fun.
Also as others have mentioned I get more attention in this car than anything else I’ve owned. I have people filming it either on the street or from their cars on an almost daily basis it’s quite something 😂
It’s mainly just me in the car but to move the kids and dog along with luggage in a 630hp wagon. There’s nothing better!
I daily an Audi Q8.. “the car I love to hate”. RS6 has the same MMI, electronics. And THEY’RE FREAKING HORRIBLE. That Porsche and Audi are sister companies and that the MMI is so much worse is head scratching.
Constantly things work, then next start-up get an error message, which may or may not go away w the next start-up. I’ve actually had so many on-air type “connect” issues that Audi (without me asking or really complaining about) refunded me my yearly connect subscription fee.( Like $370!). They literally couldn’t fix it. Even my service advisor low-key told me just use CarPlay as they too are frustrated w it. (And wireless carplay connect is very hit or miss, sometimes never connects, sometimes minutes, sometimes right away). It’s just constant niggling problems that after awhile becomes so frustrating/exasperating; Due to this I will never buy another Audi. (And I’m not a minority, Google AUDI MMI issues)
So, after all my rambling, my point is I’d think long and hard about an RS6, (not considering the driving part RS6 owners mentioned above)
