Default "new" commuter

Picked up a 2017 BMW i3 REX at the end of January. loaded with Tech and park assist package, CPO-ed with under 25k miles. If you are looking for a cheap commuter, I highly recommend it. The cost was about $19k plus tax and if you live in CA, you get $1000 rebate back from SCE (or your electricity provider) as long as the car had 3 or less ownership previously

Range is about 105-115 miles on EV plus another 70-80 miles on the backup gas engine (a 2 cylinder motorcycle engine as a electricity generator) which you can bimmercode it to kick on once the batt charge is under 75%)

Yeah yeah yeah the Tesla is a "better" car...but i aint gonna spend $40k on a model 3 as a throw around commuter.....$18k after rebate? Sure all day everyday :-)

The only down side is the seats are hard, the limited tire choices, a few others weird designs and a shi**y ACC system.......but everything else is great considering

the price these things are going for

Thanks for sharing. I have a friend who has an i8, which is a very cool car. It got me interested in the i3 as a nice little commuter car. AC (or lack of) isn't an issue for me.
