That's a matter of personal opinion. Not to my eyes.

Go drive one. I think it's a GT car. I have driven one on street and at COTA. My Ferrari's have all been reliable. You can factory warranty a Ferrari to 12 years old.

FF looks like an AMC Gemlin to me.

I too think the F12 is better looking than the 812.

The only transmission repair we've done on a DCT Ferrari was on my wife's 458 Challenge EVO race car. That car's DCT started slipping after 23,000 km of hard track driving (!) which is about 2.3X the rebuild interval we've seen quoted for other similarly-powered racing cars.
Ha. De modern age. I spent 25k on an FF gearbox this year.

I can’t think of a better supercar that ticks all the road car boxes than the F12. Question though: can you go more under the radar with a darker colored example compared to the mid engined exotics (488, Huracan, 570S)?

TDF or bust for me. It just looks THAT much better. One of the best looking F-cars OAT.

I think an F12 in any color would be more under the radar than any of those. It doesn't really look like a loud sports car the way the others do.

Precisely my thinking... Which is why I waited a couple years, skipped the F12 entirely and went right for the Tdf. I have zero regrets. The Tdf drive dynamic is remarkably different than the F12, and the design really works beautifully for my eyes, completely reminiscent of classic Ferraris and unlikely to ever by duplicated again. Atomic-like explosive throttle response packaged in sexy Italian curves with a V12 chorus. A modern classic.

I would LOVE to have a TDF, but my guess is the cost is 4x+ an F12. An Argento F12 seems just about right to me...

812 is indeed gorgeous, and so is F12, but they are very different animals. While I haven't looked at the technicals much, from driving both about 1000-1500 miles each for a few weeks, I would say the extreme handling differences must be due mostly due to the rear wheel steering. The 812 feels like 2 generations on from F12, the 812 has all the Tdf handling refinements which make it easy to drive, just without the emotion of the TDF. sound is lacking when stock (both Intake and exhaust) make it feel more like a very capable but almost luxury GT, the emotion just isn't worth it at new 812 prices.. but, it IS the perfectly developed Ferrari GT.. none of the handling issues of F12 and much nicer interior.

F12 feels a little scary, and I know most might think that "sounds cool" in theory, and that they are manly enough, but to me, as an average joe driver, it isn't... the F12, you drive in twisties at spirited speeds, enter a turn at what feels like an appropriate speed, apply throttle.. aaaaand, you're not sure what happens next... will I come out nose forward or *** backward.. it's straight up hairy. The rear doesn't follow, it wiggles and seems to want to play dodgeball with you. I think the rear steering is a huge part of this... also, needs a little more front tire patch, you can get it to understeer a bit.. that's v12 is a lump!

case in point.. drive the TDF which is based on F12 but with RWS and big fat 285mm front tires and it's a much more enjoyable drive, despite being calibrated to be more raw. With TDF you just know what the front and rear are doing because the rear is following your inputs.
However in the F12 , the front turns, you add power and bam, you're adding frantic and wobbly opposite lock when you never intended to... brown seat stain and all. It's is quite untamed which makes driving fast nerve-wracking .. not enjoyable in my book. but yes, for the price, get this over 458 because with an exhaust added it will give you all the V12 tingles. Maybe this is a reason they are trading so cheap?.. it's certainly pretty.

TDF, IS the most fun car I've ever driven.. it's not scalpel efficient like a Senna or a track car, it's just laugh out loud FUN. All the intake and exhaust sound which sound so muffled on 812 are THERE.. LOUD! seats are bolted solid to the floor trucking you into thinking you're in a track car not a GT. And then, you can take all the talent in your pinky, go into a turn hard, it grips, stab the throttle like a goofball and it's ok.. you just put it sideways, whatever magic Ferrari engineers created allows you to ride the slide out... point where you want to go and you're there.. no pucker, just fun sounds.

I've posted this TDF video before but a buddy and I went for a nice drive in the Alps and put a TDF through its paces while leading a decent supercar convoy... nothing sounds or drives like a TDF.. oh man, we giggled like children the whole time (giggles sound the same Italian or Anglo.. doesn't matter). Yes unfortunately prices are in the $1M+ range for Tdf right now... probably for the wrong reasons (exclusivity and all that BS).. but still, it's a million dollar driving experience for sure.

One helpful website setup for registered owners was made public a few years back. The Factory USA locator now shows 46 F12s for sale.

I love my wife. Her name is GT3. She is nice looking but not too over the top. Intelligent, easy to live with on a daily basis. She is logical, practical, stable, sane. She's keeps fit, does yoga, is financially practical, and is all around fantastic. I want her in my life forever. Can't imagine living without her.

But I am completely head over heels infatuated with my Italian mistress. Her name is Tdf. She is voluptuous, curvy, sexy as well. Not always the most intelligent, but I'm so emotionally involved with her, who cares. Living with her daily would be impossible, a complete pain. But for a few weekends per year, we have an incredible romp, totally out of control, insane, detached from the tethers of daily life. Everywhere I take her, guys are drooling over her and probably wondering how a guy like me is with such a sexy sultry supermodel. But I can only take her in small doses, a few times per year. She is entirely impractical financially, and has a complete disregard for the value of a dollar. Yes I could live without her, but would miss out on so much fun if she ever went away completely.

Having one sane and one insane, a good balance.

Nice quote! I'm sticking with my sexy hot reliable wife of a car, but I can certainly see the mistress appeal of the Ferrari.
