OT: Anyone here have a Raptor?
Thinking about buying one today. Drove it, and its obviously super cool looking and surprisingly comfortable. Technology is good on it, and on the interstate at 70 its as quiet as my Cayenne.
I would use it for weekend use, driving to tahoe, towing a 7k total open trailer and racecar (8-10 times a year), not really going to off road.
My worries are
1. People say it sucks to tow with soft suspension, but 7k is well below its max
2. The bed is pretty short so unsure if its that helpful for costco runs, tires and tools for race weekends
3. It is a truck and trucks can be a pain in towns
Thoughts?

1. Very large (wider then other Ford trucks), so not the best around town and parking
2. Not the best truck for towing
3. Probably a small difference, but may not be as good in the snow as "regular" pickups
4. Very pricey

I found the problem with parking my last truck, an F150 Supercab, in town was due to the length always being a tad bit too long for a regular parking spot. The Raptor with the short bed would have fixed that.
Personally I'd wait and see if they offer it with this upcoming 7.0.

I dont see how that 7.0L rumor becomes a reality with emissions etc - I tried to figure out when they will announce, but no luck
The question is really is this better/same worse than the cayenne for
1. towing my open trailer and racecar + hauling tires and tools (that part is a pain in cayenne)
2. driving 200 miles to tahoe
3. parking at grocery store and costco
4. driving with my dog to go hiking
5. the old home depot run
I wouldnt swap the cayenne out for a regular f150 - just too different in the cool factor

I have on (SCAB) as my daily driver with 18k miles so far. I drive everywhere in town with it and no issues. Highly recommend the 360 camera. Not really meant for towing anything significant. Bed is plenty large and more functional with a folding top.

What are you buying at CostCo? Furniture sets? Haha. Plenty of room for anything. And you can get a bed extender if you really need it.
I ordered mine with orange leather trim and Alcantara and carbon fiber. Tech is great both in terms of amenities and performance.
Lot of truck for for the money if you compare it to any German suv.
There iis no downside in terms of a daily driver except it’s size which makes it tougher to park and also get into certain garages.

360 camera bumps up the MSRP a ton, is it really worth it?

The 360 cam is worth it. Also, get the 802A pkg. You won't regret it and these trucks hold value well. The SCREW has reasonable tow capacity but I have no experience hauling.

Have my '17 Avalanche Gray Supercrew with 802a pkg, orange interior accent pkh, and forged bead lock wheels since last summer (ordered it 12/2016). Daily driver and towed a trailer with GT4 on it once (roundtrip 400 miles)... no issues. Love that V6 Ecoboost power and really good acceleration for its heft... and yeah it has a nice aggressive look too.
Over 100mph at Homestead Miami Speedway.... until that speed limited kicks in at 107.
My friend owns a Lighting Blue one... also looks sharp.

Paging @obsessedgarage; He has a first gen and second gen. He has quite a bit of towing time with the first, not sure the second.

I absolutely love mine. It is my daily since last November. Was a little worried about parking but has not been an issue for me. Have done no towing so can't help you there. I traded my GT350 and my golf R for it and honestly don't miss either one. I suspect if within its tow weight range it would be fine. Maybe check the raptor and F150 forums

Love mine. 10 speed tranny is a pain. Works well in sport mode and there’s always the paddles. Soft suspension and brakes (relative to my GT3RS and 911R...). Fun ride.
