Finally achieved the dream of owning a Porsche. Had a poster on my wall in the early ‘70s of three Gulf-liveried 917s in the rain at Brands Hatch and dreamt about owning a relative of these legends ever since. I always thought it’d be an older manual air-cooled 911, but I guess I’m not mature enough for that yet. I couldn’t say no to my 991.1 GT3 when it came available. I still like to drive fast and live 5 minutes from Road America, so I guess I’ll have to use this thing the way it was intended. There’ll be time for the old Luftgekühlt later.
