New member from Brazil - thinking about 997.2 c4s vs 997.2 base (both manual)
Hi there!
I'm new to the Porsche world, focused on a manual 997. I have two options at the moment:
- 997.2 Carrera base 2010, with 14,000km: very new car, very original with updated breaks (red calipers) and sports exhaust
- 997.2 Carrera C4S 2009 with 38,000km: very well preserved and also with low mileage for the year
The price difference between the two is huge. This 997.2 C4S is a very rare car in Brazil - I believe there are only 3 or 4 units. The price is probably due to this exclusivity. The 997.2 base price is at US$77k (yes, that's the price in Brazil), and the C4S is US$120k.
I couldn't justify this difference to myself, given the options. Obviously the leather interior of the C4S is far superior to the Base, it was the only thing that caught my attention.
The car is for short weekend use, very occasionally on the track, where I would perhaps feel the difference between the two.
In that case, do you have any opinion that justifies this "bonus" in the price?
The other option I had was a 997.1 C2S with 60,000km around US$77k too. I've dismissed this one compared to the 997.2 base - the only thing I'm missing is the full leather interior that the 997.2 base doesn't have. Didn't miss the PASM, the 3.8 difference and the sport chrono... the 997.2 base with 14,000 km was very new compared to the 997.1 C2S.
