Default New 997.1 Turbo member from Amsterdam

Hi Guys,

Before I introduce myself: what a fantastic forum this is with very valuable information. I am grateful to the contributors. After reading along for a few months, I decided to become a paid member so that I could also make my contribution.

After years of searching, I found a fantastic 997.1 Turbo (it had to be a Mezger engine) in Germany in September 2023, and picked it up myself on a trailer and then arranged the formal import. The color is Carrara white with cocoa brown interior. Manual gearbox, Chrono package and lock diff. It was built late 2008 and has only run 41,000 km (25,500 mi) with a full Porsche maintenance history. The first and second German owners rode it, after which it was owned by a German collector for 12 years who drove it 300 km per year, once a year to the inspection, and twice a year for a warm-up ride. ....

Despite the history, I had a PPI (111-point check) carried out at Porsche. And despite that, I wanted to check everything in detail myself (I'm an engineer) and see the oils that came from the engine, gearbox/differential, front differential and AWD distributor with my own eyes. Also refreshed the tires, battery, motor mounts, performed a boost pressure test and inspected the cooling line fittings with a hose camera. It made me happy and this machine drives wonderfully.

I live in the Netherlands and am planning to make a nice trip into the Alps in the coming months.

Here are some pictures of my Turbo.

Greetings,

Max

Default Inspection

Hey Max,

I'm looking at a 1985 930. It's near Bremen Germany,,,, I live in Budapest and would like to find someone to inspect the car. Since you bought your car in Germany you might have a suggestion.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks David

Hi David,

I just looked quickly. Must be the red one, nice machine!

The advertisement is quite short. Have you already asked about maintenance history and owners? You could ask Porsche Centrum Bremen to perform an 111-punkte check. Make sure you give the assignment and pay for this. A compression test and oil analysis is not standard.

The mileage is a difficult thing with this analogue generations. Turning back is very easy and often done because it has no computer memorizing the running hours and overrevving, that even Porsche can't erase or change. So the history is a must and maybe more important than the miles shown.

I also now 1 beaittifull 930 for sale in the Netherlands, at a specialist with 1 year guarantee. I can PM you the link if interested.

Good luck!

Thanks Max.... The mileage issue is an interesting point as I never thought of it... Yes they did send me records and other information... They were very helpful. I'll reach out to the Dealership in Bremen.. Yes its the red one... The price seems a bit low which makes me somewhat suspicious. I appreciate you reaching out..

Cheers
David
