Greetings from Santa Cruz! Happy to join this forum. Been lurking for a while and early reads, just like the 992 Forum, confirms there's tons of great info.
After thirty-four years away from the marque.... I'm back. My first 911 was as a third owner of a 1972 911T....although underpowered I loved that car. Lotta miles in the Northeast. Became a Porsche enthusiast and I was determined to purchase a new 911. Took a while to save up but in 1986 I purchased a brand-new factory ordered (nine months) for $38k. That car also clicked miles from Pocono, down I-95 to Carolina and back. That was gonna be the forever vehicle...until I relocated to California.
New job meant a new start...after three years in Cupertino the Wife and I decided it was time to start a family, buy a house and that meant saying goodbye to the Meteor Grey Metallic missile. Fast forward some 34 years later after stints in Silicon Valley High Tech and General Aviation...well it's back to Zuffenhausen!
Picked up a 2023 Carrera few months ago...and it's a base 911 configured as an homage to that 1986 G-model. It's Arctic Grey, with 20/21's, Sport Chrono, Steel Sun Roof, Adaptive Sport Seats, Leather w/Premium Package and some other odds and ends. I consider it a "Pure" 911.
