Default Hello Rennlist

Hi all, I'm just joining as new member here from Canada! Have been a member on other Porsche forums and local PCA for some time and thought I'd see what's up over here!

My one and only Porsche is a 1980 911sc widebody that I purchased way back in 2016. Since then I haven't driven it much as had some issues with CIS and life has been busy. Currently I have the engine out for a reseal, gone through the CIS entirely, redone the fuel and electrical systems and more "while you're in there"

As you may have guessed from my handle, I'm an avid BMW fan and have own many vintage Bimmers, mostly E30's in my time, but am a fan of all euro cars.

This is what it looked like when I got it, thankfully it came with a set of Fuchs which quickly got swapped on, and turbo twist reps sold

I've since replaced the Fuchs (don't worry, still have them) with some 3 piece Kinesis K27, Fuchs tires were hockey puck hard anyways

Obviously this car didn't come as a widebody, and in the service history I found a costly receipt from 1994 documenting 930 turbo look parts that were added and followed by a color change from original color to the metallic green it is now. The original color seems close to Sienna Metallic like the 930 picture borrowed below, but the paint code doesn't correspond to that color and I haven't had any luck tracking down the 802-9-3 code?

After it started running poorly in 2017 started doing diagnostics but also a lot of life changes ate up my time...

Still, I did compression and leakdown to verify engine condition, and thankfully passed those tests

Also deleted the A/C and backdated the heat to improve service access and simplify / add lightness

This was what the car weighed in at before A/C removal, heat backdate (less 180lbs for me in drivers seat), hoping to hit the scale again this year to find out the weight savings!

Hmmm, I wonder why the speakers didn't work?

Thanks! The paint is far from good up close, but I don't mind, can have more fun driving (eventually - lol) without stressing about rock chips, parking lot dings, etc.

Looking back at the state the car was in compared to now does make me feel good - even if its not on the road - yet. The wiring in the engine bay and fuse panel was a mess when I got the car. The 14 pin engine connector, and 6 pin lambda connectors were MISSING completely, some hack had replaced both with crimp bullet connectors. I suspect that was done by a shop that charged for the work - shameful. Not saying crimp connectors shouldn't ever be used, just the quality of work done here was poor. The fuse panel also had a couple burned/melted slots and rerouted wires.

New 14 and 6 pin connectors have been installed, wiring repaired, and the fuse panel replaced with a classic retrofit panel including integrated headlight relays.
