Hello Alan and welcome to this forum.
I have loved the 997 S (911 model) which brought me joy every time I drove it! Now, you must make a choice between the model you want, the one you need (family, daily or not, the area you live in…) and your available budget, unless you do a lot by yourself. Porsche parts could be very expensive… and unfortunately some issues do exist. But for the most part, these cars are quite reliable as long as they never have been neglected and have constantly been 'professionally’ well maintained.
