Default Hello from 981 Boxster S in London

Hi!

New to this forum and new to Porsche ownership.

Recently bought a 2015 Boxster S which I love.

Possible upgrades considering:
  • PSE or Soul exhaust
  • Smoked tail lights
Looking forward to some lively conversation and exchange of views. Most of all friendliness and mutual support!

Best wishes
HariVoy

Very tempted!

I have a question, if I may:

Did you upgrade from PSE to Soul? In other words do the valves open and close with 1) the override switch in the console and 2) according to the engine revs?

Thank you for considering our Valved Exhaust System! I just installed it on my 2014 Boxster S - you'll love it! I did not have PSE prior and control the valves with either the included key fobs or just use the HomeLink buttons which you can pair the fob with. If you already have PSE functionality then our system would operate in the same manner. Valves closed mode has the good manners of the factory non-valved system while giving more excitement when you're on it. Valves open mode is very aggressive and sounds wild in the higher RPM's - like a race car when you're really getting on it. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about it!

Beauty. Folks at Soul are super helpful, mainly why I went with them. Not that this is why I got it, but many PSE guys compliment mine. A few have ordered one after hearing it on track. Lots of video on my YT- Banshee Cruises, in “real world” use.

Hi Mike

Thank you for your reply.

I wonder if it's possible to buy, from Porsche, the PSE system except the exhaust itself, in other words the control switch which opens the valves at a certain RPM, the interior switch, wiring loom etc. and get the ECU programmed to think it had PSE.

That way we could have a third party exhaust (eg Soul) with the functionality as if it was installed on a PSE car...

Can't imagine this cannot be achieved...

You're most welcome. It has been done before!

Any clue? Or do we have to work it out ourselves?

I don't have the specific parts list but your dealer can supply and install everything needed but the exhaust system itself. At that point you would simply need to connect included vacuum line to the a vacuum source.
