Hello everyone. Long time BMW owner looking to get my first Porsche this year. I'm a formally trained mechanic from my "prior life" and still do all wrenching on my vehicles. I'm known for being an "M5 guy" with 3 currently in my stable. One of them will be for sale soon and I plan to replace it with something from the 996 or 997 generations. I've already done some research over the last year or so but looking forward to joining the community to learn more and ask questions.

Give the 997's a harder look. They're desired x100 over the 996 and will appreciate higher and faster. It's one of the last "true Porsches."

Thanks. I think the interior and exterior styling is more eye pleasing on the 997, as most people probably agree.

If you can get your hands on a 997 with the Sport Design steering wheel, it really makes the interior that much better 👍🏼. IMO the triangle base steering wheel is a little blah.
