Hi all, Mike here from NY and a very proud owner of a 1993 928 GTS, 5-speed with low miles on it. Jerry Feather encouraged me to join this website due to the Forums and can't thank Jerry enough for the 1/2 hr conversation we had regarding replacement fender wells. Recently retired from Verizon back in December with 30 1/2 years and turned 51 back in June. Had an issue with 1 cooling fan that went out and turned out to be a bad module along side of the passenger seat. 1st 1 off ebay caused the exact opposite fan to not work at all,got a 2nd 1 and it fixed the problem. Took the module apart and seems the 40 pin IC made by NEC is the culprit and NEC has no record of this chip what so ever and has no cross reference at all and this module is clearly obsolete from Porsche. On a fence to buy a BK Precision 575A IC analyzer/Identifier to see what this chip consists of since the outlying circuitry suggests it a dual chip in 1 since both cooling fans are controlled independently with separate circuits. Thanks for reading guys. Mike
