I bought a 2008 997.1 4S online and it arrived with a broken door handle switch. I got the part, disconnected the battery for safety and proceeded to remove the panel. It started to rain and I do not have a garage so I closed it up and put a cover on it as the window is partly down. I had watched people open their front hood using a battery charger hooked up to the red trunk opener in the fuse box and nothing happened. I was able to fish the rear wire out from the engine hood and can now open that. My question is this”Can I connect my charger at the rear engine to give the car enough juice to open the front trunk on a 2008?” Or does the battery need to be connected for that to work?
