Sep 22, 2010 10:59 PMI am traveling in Richmond, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, DC, Hartford and Albany this week., plus my email is down.
But more importantly, I haven't registerd because I can't. The bum that is the HCR registrar hasn't opened the registration yet. Sheesh, what a slacker. -
Feb 27, 2010 01:20 AMHi Paul,Thanks for taking the time tonight with the hasty inspection. Provided there are no surprises with the engine and trans I will buy the car. I was hoping to drive it a bit, but I bet the neighborhood would frown on a test drive around the block. I assume the car had freeze protection during the cold snap. I really don't need the new seats, so the Recaro and M3 seats will be fine as I will put my Sparcos in the car anyway. Let me know what you want for the second set of wheels. What was the age or heat cycles on the second set of tires? I thought you mentioned two of the tires were new, but I could have gotten confused on that as you and West talked about tire and wheel combinations.
When will you be returning? Is a check OK or do you prefer funding by another means? Have a safe, enjoyable trip.

Feb 26, 2010 05:40 PMPart 2:
Brakes are factory stock for a 1989 944 turbo S. The pads are
either PF or Pagid. I don't remember. The fronts may be drilled.
Can't remember. If they are drilled, they have holes in them.
Pretty obvious.
The A/C has been removed. There is an old PCA logbook from when it
was raced as a 944S and one race as 944 turbo. The car has not
been raced since 2001. It has been used for DE instruction. I am
an instructor for BMW, PCA, Viper Club, Ferrari Club, Cobra Club,
NASA, Phil Wicks...
As for pictures, I put 24 on the original posting. They show
everything and I believe Paul has them.
It will run all day with F355, E46 M3, old Z06. It eats 993 and
996 lunch (not GT3 or turbos). -

Part 1:
The car was originally a 1987 944S NA.
It was converted to a 1989 944 Turbo S and raced 1 E class race
around 2001 in the present condition. It passed Tech Inspection
including all the proper turbo, LSD, harness, ABS, chips (sort
of...the chips are slightly modified, but undetectable...and look
stock). There is a hidden boost knob behind the guages in center
console where the guages are. The turbo is the factory stock KKK
K-26#8.
This car has the factory 1989 944 turbo S transmission with
hardened 1st and 2nd gears and factory ratios with LSD.
Cage was custom made by Memphis Motorsports by the owner Mike
Wilkes. 5 point harness are at least 10 years old. The Recaro SPG
seat is over 10 years old. Control arms are factory stock for 1989
944 turbo and are over 10 years old.
