There is an electrical connector under the carpet and lining that gets wet. Simply drying out the connector will not solve the problem since the connector actually corrodes. You need to peel the carpet back, locate the connector, open it, clean the terminals, pack with di-electric grease, and re-connect. Some dealership techs will even go to the extent of sealing the entire connector with heat-shrink tubing and sealing the ends with automotive-grade silicone.

There are a multitude of problems that can happen with a bad connection. You have only touched on a few but I've seen many more experience more complicated issues. Consider yourself lucky! Good luck with the repair.

    Hi,
I am hoping you may be able to help ..? After reading through some of your posts you seem to be knowledgable on cayenne.
Firstly I have just had the front scuttle cleared of water it was that full in went in to the sils and was sloshing around ! The carpets were very wet in the passenger side and drivers side, since the water as been drained I have had a de-humidifier in the car trying to dry it out.
It is a total nightmare as the car now will start up fine when there seems to be a lot of heat inside it like on a sunny day then after driving about 2 -3 miles the PSM will appear on and send the car in to like a limp mode ..? Now the radio system as failed comes on intermintemly .. Then if I turn the car on and off it struggles to start for a few seconds then fires up with the PSM light on again ... It seems be getting worse even though I am drying the car out ...? Do you think it will dry out ..? I was reading something about Can- bus connector that you posted?
