I'm facing the same problem you described in this thread, trying to mount 997 S mufflers and tips into my 996 mk 2. The pictures you provided are no longer available and my biggest concern is: will the 997 S tips fit in 996 bumper hole (they are near 1 inch wider)?
Did you use 997 S tips or 996 mk 2 tips?
