Just noticed your question on my CP. The car ran fine, at least until the clutch went out last December - it's been parked since then. I would think if anything bad was going to happen it would have soon after I returned the car to daily service. It didn't. That doesn't mean a piece of the impeller is not lodged somewhere inside and in the future will come out but like I said, I'm taking my chances. I don't have that kind of disposable income.

    2/2...

Found your thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ated-pics.html). My question to you: what happened after you repaired your car? Specifically, with regard to your post: "I'm not going to disassemble the engine and cooling system. I could never justify the expense to pay someone else to do so, even if it were a realistic option. It's a risk I am forced to accept. Whatever happens, happens. C'est la vie." I think the same way. How has it turned out and what do you think?

Thank you for your time and consideration and for sharing your experience on this forum. It's helped me feel better about this situation.

    Hello,
My name is Pat and I have a 2008 C4S that, just last night on my way home from work, began making an awful noise, something that sounded like a belt had gone off in a grating sort of way. I must have been in denial because I didn't dwell on it. Continued home (total of about 2 miles) and confirmed the noise in the driveway. Parked the car and witnessed a bluish white smoke emanating from the engine bay. Opened the engine lid and saw reddish orange fluid splattered around the components, on the left, and then watched as the same fluid began to pool on the ground under the left side of the engine. Thought it was oil at first but it's evaporated. After reading through the forums I've concluded it's likely coolant, probably due to a WP failure. Dealer service closed on weekends and this holiday Monday. (1/1; Continued.)
