That is NOT GOOD....it means the headgasket is blown....major bummer.... so now you must pull the engine...either fix it or change it.... A full gasket kit is about $400....but since you will be tearing into the engine pretty deep....it starts the "while your at it" expense of new main & rod bearings + new piston rings and whatever machine work it needs..... If you replace everything yourself or with help (best idea..many local guys know how to do it) figure $1400 in parts....I was quoted $2500 to rebuild an engine by a mechanic I trust very much....but that was a 16V engine...not a 32V....
The huge amount of work makes a running used engine sound pretty good.....a simple external refresh and your done....but Anderson wants $3500.....but you can find them for $1500...which is what Sean is doing to his right now!
no problem....call John (owner) at 916-275-1038 John also is a NASA tech inspector, so he can issue you a logbook like I have! He also is familiar with 928's since he built both of mine! He also can pick the car up from Thunderhill no problem, since he is there often! He typically charges $100..pretty cheap really
I might go up to the shop on Friday to change the oil and tinker with the Estate...
