    Eric-
When the front axle lift failed on the Turbo S, the symptoms were just what you are describing. It turned out that the service tech had simply unplugged the connection between the brain (ECU maybe? under seat I believe he said) and the lift unit. The car had been in for a service because the driver's side tail light was acting funny and the tech tried the unplug-everything-and-plug-back-in fix and neglected to reconnect the axle lift wiring. I am unsure if the disconnection was located at the lift unit or within the passenger compartment. So, the symptoms I saw and that you described seem to occur when the axle lift system and console switch are functionally fine but there is a loss of communication between the brain and the lift unit. I recommend checking connections. Good luck. Chris
