As for the idle issue... there very well could be a faulty TPS. Faulty tps can present with a very vast range of issues... usually dome driveability problems too I think. What I would try first, is disconnecting the cable leading to the cruise control module. I had an issue where the throttle was sticking, and it turned out to be the cruise control. Simpliest/cheapest fix first. Then you could try unplugging the TPS and seeing what happens. Our cars also use an idle stabilizer valve which will cause odd idle issues when they go bad. Mine currently is. Honestly, it sounds like a stuck cruise control cable to me though.

Also, I think after a couple forum posts you can actually send and receive PMs. Much more convenient.

Yeah, just went through my junk email today and saw the meeting info. I actually don't have a busy schedule today, surprsingly, so I'll drop by if I can. Black slacks, blue striped shirt, look for me.

Not sure on the symptoms of a bad TT bearing.. some searching around or starting a thread might be helpful. I don't think the solid transmission mount is the cause either. If the torque tube is indeed the issue though, I would definitely recommend changing the clutch at the same time if there's no prior documentation of this. It would only be a couples hours more of work with the torque tube already out. A clutch kit will run you a good sum of money unfortunately, 700-800 range probably. I spent around that to do mine, just a regular Sachs pressure plate, throw out bearing, and an aftermarket 930 (early 911 turbos) clutch disc + a few small bits (pilot bearing, clutch fork bearing, etc).
