    The classic symptoms are it takes a long time to start the car, hot or cold. Once it starts you may not notice anything. When mine when out the car violently bucked and sputtered, had a hard time getting up the hill to my house. If your HPFP goes out you will know it, from what you described it's not the HPFP.
