this will make a near perfect match of a race pad and the rotors so they dont make any noise.

PS, the rears can be a lot more challenging because the amount of braking forces on the rotors are so much less than the fronts. so with rears, its critical to use new rotors and pads to start.. i just went through this, with a new rotor and new pads and they were NOISY. ... so in this case, you need to jack up the car, (use jack stands IMPORTANT) and run the car. put in 3rd gear and ride the brakes and throttle keeping RPM up in the 3-4K range and apply brakes.. (riding the brakes basically) follow the above procedure for duration and pressures... this will bed the rear pads. they can be as noisy as the fronts, and no track day will help. as a note, never put a new rotor on with used pads. its almost impossible to fix the squeal especially on the rear if you do.

    2. Then within a couple of mins, get onto a freeway, and start the main bedding in procedure.
80 mph down to 50mph, with throttle applied , almost WOT in 3rd gear.. 5 times with 5 second breaks. the last time, the brakes will be so hot they will seem like they don't work (all with throttle). give it throttle and with left foot, apply to the brake and try and keep adding pressure on both gas and brake until complete fad. (without the gas, the brakes will work fine even when this hot). if you do this right, no one around you will see what you are doing, but depending on your exhaust system, they might hear it.

    3. Drive a 1 mile to cool off . Get back on freeway and do the same thing again. By the time you get to the last application the brakes will be smoking hot. Remember, you need to cool the brakes for a couple miles before you get off the freeway, and then they should be bedded.

3 steps: And i would do this without the wife in the car, and on a weekend or mid day where traffic is light. its not dangerous, but you cant be too careful.. if done right, the engine will make a lot of noise but folks wont know what you are doing. in the end..........

    1. With new pads and a new rotor or near new rotor, drive the car about 4 miles at 40-50mph riding the brakes and applying throttle intermittently. (use the throttle to fight decel) Slowing the car from 50 to 30 gently with the throttle! Do this 10 times or so, with 5 second breaks. after 5-6 times, ride the brakes and add throttle until you feel fade at about 40mph and almost no brakes against moderate throttle.. the brakes will actually fail at this point.. (they come back almost instantly if you release the throttle, wait a few seconds and apply again) this is getting them hot. They should start to smell .

Here is the procedure I received:

    -----

All you need to do is bed the pads and rotors properly and you will get no noise on the street or on the track. You do this by getting the rotors mated to the pads near perfectly. Start with new rotors and pads (or near new rotors and at least new pads). this process works and seems overly aggressive and scary to some, but it works. and has worked for me with dual purpose cars for racing and around town for months at a time with no noise. I know it works, because we have done a lot of research on the testing, and analysis of rotors before and after bedding, before and after racing and street driving as well. (many pad brands and types as well)
