    Hi, There are instructions in the factory manual to do this with the engine out but ultimately it is done with cam covers installed cause the covers are the actual
    bearings for the cams. I can send a link if you need it that was very helpful in timing the engine,let me know. v

    did you ever find concise directions to time your 5 chain with the cam comers off? I would be interested in reading them.
