Many thanks for your reply. you're right i'm a newbie on Rennlist! yes I agree the black top of the 911R gear knob matches the carbon interior perfectly. I am likely to specify the CF interior and will see if I can include the 911R knob from factory, if not, will have to do it post-delivery - some how the standard silver knob doesn't fit in.

Hope that they will resolve their mistake on your vent stitching soon. Meanwhile, enjoy and drive safe!

Hey GH. Thanks for the comments. Tried to PM you but I guess you're a new user. In any case, the car is amazing and you are going to love it! With respect to the knob - my dealer had Porsche do something special for me I believe with the knob. I had lost my PTS slot due to Porsche's stop sale - it was sudden and unexpected. I had asked for specific things that I was not sure would come to fruition but I took delivery of the car with the carbon knob from the 911R. The CXX carbon knob on the GT3 is NOT all black - it still has a silver cap which I didn't like which is why I wanted the 911R version. Of course you can always fit the knob after the fact as well. The irony of course is the vents were wrong. Haha. And yes the alcantara roof is standard.
