Might be worth a shot. Call me sometime at my office, 617-502-8247, and I can point you to some of the hurdles you will face. My Maserati driving friend may be willing to help. I will check with him. Charlie Ognibene

Hi Plowman, Forgive me for cutting in to your offer for advice but I'm in a 3rd party diminished value situation myself. After two separate rear ends by two different 2 drivers who are covered by Geico. After the repair, I submitted two professional appraisals (one letter from the dealer) on the diminished value of my Carrera S that shows about $20k loss in value. Both were denied as per your excuse that because I didn’t sell it I didn’t realize the loss.

The way I see it, insurance companies are will pay individual claim under a certain value threshold an will sandbag on claims over that to save costs. I’ve talked with several lawyers (including my own) who were not interested unless there were higher medical claims on the table.

I have some business law experience and wondered if you think (with the advice from my personal lawyer) that I might stand a chance in filing a suit on my own?

    Thanks_Steve

AIG claims they cover diminished value for high end exotics. Any experience if they actual cover a diminished value claim.

Do know, I pushed getting the language about AIG's diminished value, but nothing specific, other than verbal from the agent. Obviously, I walked the other way. Did I miss anything about AIG covering diminished value? Many thanks.
