My apologies for not sending a PM. I couldn't figure it out. I live in Carlsbad, CA and have a 99 996 tip and would like to rent your tool. Let me know how to get payment to you.

Was doing some more Google searching for rock rails for my 2005 Cayenne Turbo and came across your installation thread. You mentioned possibly working up a design that could be more easily fabricated rather than going with the overly expensive factory option. Ever make any headway with that project? Just about every time I take my Cayenne off road I put fresh scratches on it. It's only a matter of time before I get even stupider and dent something.

Also, I see from your signature that you're selling your 2004. Good luck. Hope it goes to a good and deserving home.

The AGA tool is amazing; I absolutely recommend it. I would not attempt the job without it. Please search on the 996 board; I'm fairly sure it is still floating around with one Rennlister or another, available for rent.

Did replacing those control arms sort out the knocking you had 2 weeks ago?

Hit knfeparty, I'm having exactly the same issue you had about a year ago with the seat belt bolt rubbing against the carpet on the center tunnel. I'm trying to figure out if the hole on the seatbelt receptacle is so small it fits only on the bolt, or is the hole on yours bigger and fits over the stud the bolt screws into?

I'm reusing the receptacle from electric seat onto the race seats, and the hole on my receptacle fits only over the bolt, so the bolt can't be tightened all the way in against the stud. Instead the receptacle is spacing the bolt away from the stud.

In the photo you posted of your disassembled parts, looks like your receptacle has the bigger hole to fit over the stud not just the bolt, but it's hard to tell from the photo.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    My email is csmarx@gmail.com

    Regards,
    -Christian
