Hello John hope you can help with a few questions .. I see you repaired some spoiler control boards by replacing the 3 caps the suspect was the middle but you replaced all 3 I would as well , in the end was it the middle cap that was bad ??
My post show I am having problems with the extension of the spoiler as well.. Thanks Randy

    Hi John.
    Wonder if you can help...?
I'm on the lookout for a 964 RUF Bilstein - single to make a pair with the remainder i have here.
Scouring around I stumbled upon a thead re 964 shock adaptors and read that you were upgrading to B6's from ...

    Thanks in advance

Thanks for supporting the Cayman R registry. I have your data in. Is your Vin number proceeded by a CS or CU. That way i can figure out if it is a German or Finland built car and put that into the data.

    Hi John ,

I see on the forum , you are planning to take your car over sea's , and that you may leave it there to sell , since the last few cars have sat around awhile , do you feel we don't have the market here for the
    3.6 cars ?

    Hi John,
Great photos of your trip! Thanks for sharing... I have a quick question about your driving mate,
can you ask him if he is running spacers and what sizes on his red C2? I also have Cup II's and
like the stance of his car.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers

    Hi John,

Long time no speak ;-) I havnt been participating on the forum for a very long time. Haven't even driven my car for two years!

I have just been google searching looking for a wiring diagram for the 964 (i have a headlight wiring issue on the 3.6t) I came across a old post on the rennlist where you mentioned you had a large 100MB file of a wiring diagram, and it appears you had shared a link to dropbox of similar, for others to download, but it appears its been removed from the forum by mods due to copyright etc.

I would really love if you could supply me with a link to download it.

I hope all is good with you where ever in the world you are now?

    Regards,

    Clint.

Thanks John, I agree on the blue interior - I just don't think I could live with that. The RUFs have "RUF SPEEDLINE" raised on the rim so presumably they're authentic, but I don't think I'd swap them. Boy it was hard driving the C4 home after a spin in the 3.3! Any thoughts on the backfire? They seemed really nice people but not P nuts eg he thought the oil level gauge was broken (I should have kept my mouth shut) but you never know how eager to sell they are. Thanks for your input; it's so hard to value a work of art.

Hi Jason, the fuel injection on these cars is not as good as modern cars. You do get jerkiness with sudden off-throttle moves and the occasional backfire noise. What you noted sounds normal. Looking at the pics, it appears to be a very clean solid car. The right starting point for happy ownership, albeit little used cars still deteriorate. You should expect a few settling in costs no matter what you buy.

I replaced my rear reflectors in 2001, so I'm not surprised this car needs the same thing. Have you checked the data sheet for option, colour etc consistency with how the car presents now? I tried to get history out of Singapore for mine, hopeless. I would get a PP with Motorscience. They're used to working on cars of this vintage.

Hi John, Hope you don't mind but Sean Seamer suggested I ask you about this 3.3T I had a look at today... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=450525174 which is very nice, just needs a very few minor dents knocked out and a new set of tail lights and reflector but otherwise seems very tight. Ex Singapore, had the engine removed early on and sent to Porsche in Germany for what I think must be the X33 mod and was dynoed at 360hp. Imported in 2000 at 38K, one owner since. Has only had three servicings in the last 10 years but has only done 8K in that period. No other mods, old SO2 N1 tyres but plenty of tread, no oil leaks. A mysterious faint hi-pitched squeal in left hand turns requires further investigation and a slight backfire under engine braking (is that normal?). Obviously needs a PPI but any idea what a fair price for it would be?
    Thanks
    Jason
