Hi. Did you install the MirrorTap on your Cayenne? Or have somebody do it? I have mine on order and would like to know if the entire roof console needs to come down to access the plug module. Or just the cover above the mirror on the windshield.

    Thanks!

I have a 13 Cayenne S. One final question. How did you route the fused wire? Thanks for the info. I was thinking that all the wires needed connecting, so you answered my questions and I feel comfortable now. I had not considered that the cabling was multi functional for different applications. I’m hoping to do the install this coming Saturday, but it means warming up the garage since I’m in upstate NY and it is colddddddd this time of year. Fortunately my company designs and works on custom PCB’s, so I have plenty of resources and help if I need or run into any issues, but I wanted to have a basic understanding of what was in front of me. The engineer in me doesn’t like starting a project without knowing what to expect.

    Thanks again!

The orange optical cable is part of the current system. You'll notice them when removing the big connector (48pin) from the PCM. They go together in a rectangular sub-connector. This is the one to be moved to the new 48 pin connector. You can't miss them.
I followed the wiring diagram and left all the un-used wires disconnected. Power up everything after connecting the system, before final placement of all hardware to make sure it works.
Let me know when are you planning to perform the installation and I'll try to be available to assist you.
BTW, to which car are you going to install it? Mine is a Cayenne, and it was really spacious to mount the hardware behind the PCM. It might be a little different for other models.

My neighbor has a Cayman GTS (also PCM 3.1). I'll be performing the install on his early next year.

Since my car came with a factory rear view camera, I didn't use any of the RCAs, nor the "Rear Camera" "Rear C - Control..".
The wiring is pretty straight forward. Just follow the wiring diagram. Keep in mind that the connectors are not color matched. Read the label on them. I almost connected the USB to the LVDS plug on the Joyeauto box.
Mini plug? I don't know to which one you are referring to. If you can, PM me a picture of it. I think you can find images of all the components on the forum.
