Description:

Starting to consider selling my 996.1 Carrera 4 that I purchased off of Rennlist back in March. Bought it at ~121,400 miles and put about 3,000 miles on it over the course of the year.

Background:

Car was shipped from Seattle in March 2025, I drove it around NYC for several months and then drove the car back to Michigan in July where it currently is. I live in NYC, car is currently in my parents garage back in SE Michigan.

Really fun car to drive, was my first 911 and starting to consider getting into a manual version instead (didn’t know how to drive manual when I first purchased but have since learned).

Car is in solid mechanical shape - when I purchased the car I had a post-purchase inspection done at Rennwerke in Westchester, NY. Nothing major was done, replaced the rear springs (which I knew I’d have to do post-purchase) along with some other smaller things. Also had an oil change done at about 122,500 miles. There were a few CEL’s that kept getting thrown in the first few months (Catalytic converter code and then a transmission code), but they went away and haven’t come back in the last ~2,000 miles. Rennwerke advised the cats may have to be replaced at some point, but the transmission is fine.

Exterior:

  • Factory Aero (XAA code)
  • Car has been a driver, so body is not in perfect shape (some small dings and scratches here and there)
  • PPF on the front-end and mirrors
  • Has some slight tints (don’t have the exact shade)
  • Rubber are Continental ControlContact Sports, date codes are June 2022
  • Has the GT3 Styled OEM rims (believe they are BBS)

Interior:
  • Car came with a bunch of wood inserts that were replaced by former owner with leather replacements. Interior is in very good shape. Has the GT3 center console delete as well below the climate control.
  • PCCM DIN-1 System for CarPlay
  • As far as I can tell, all the interior electronics are mostly working. Some are a bit finicky, but to be expected on a car with this many miles
  • Sunroof works, the liner occasionally comes off the moorings (which I can likely get fixed prior to selling)
  • Car has an OEM steering wheel with paddles as opposed to the factory tip wheel with buttons

Mechanical
  • Never had the car scoped, no signs of bore scoring though (driver’s side tailpipe is not particularly sooty, no ticking of the engine at start up)
  • Prior owner believed the car had an IMS/RMS solution done but I don’t have the paperwork for it
  • I have good service records under my ownership and immediately prior ownership. The owner two owners ago was apparently a mechanic who did some work himself on the car. Feedback from Rennwerke is the car is in fine mechanical condition.
  • Oil Consumption seems normal (levels are still within normal range after ~2,000 miles since the last change)

All-in-all, as mentioned it’s a drivers car. Not in flawless shape, but has the aero kit and a bunch of nice upgrades to the interior. I have yet to have any major issue with it. If anyone wants a PPI done, there is a PCA recommended shop in the SE Michigan area that I could take it to. Open to covering some or all the cost on that as well. Also if additional pictures are requested or people want a cold start video I can work on getting one.

Price listed is a starting point. Aero and PCCM adds value, but is also a higher mileage and tip car.

Hey all -- I'll be traveling back to MI next week for work, so I will grab a few videos of the car then (walkaround, cold start, driving, whatever anyone else wants). If anyone is in the area and wants to see it, also happy to set up time.

Do you still have the Porsche for sale? I noticed this thread hasn't been updated recently.

Still listed for sale. Have it in a shop getting a warm-start problem fixed but it's still available. Have a few interested parties.

I'm interested, I haven't seen a tip with paddles for this year other than aftermarket. Do you have any details on the paddles and the functionality?

In response to all the recent replies - this is on pause right now. Shop is still figuring out this warm start issue.
