Description:
Very nice looking 2004 Boxster. Guards Red w/ tan interior, tiptronic ~48k miles. 3rd owner. Car was in FL until Sept 2021 and has been garaged under my ownership.
The bad: Engine was rebuilt due to an odd failure (large clump of plastic melted and found in the oil pan - I have photos etc). It was running extremely rough at this point, prior its was completely smooth , etc. It was rebuilt by a reputable shop in MA (that worked on my other Porsche car over the last 25 years) along with the IMS bearing replacement. Ticking sound was present after start-up was told it would go away, month later still there so replaced part to increase the oil pressure. Didn't go away but told to drive it get oil to top of engine. Did drive a bit, but then car sat for 8 months due to medical / injury. Started up drove 2 miles and pop, black smoke. The car will start up and run, but black smoke and rough. It's parked now and will require a flat bed.
