WOW...well sorted and cared for with a great build...deal too!!...and full transparency --that will be gone quick if you ultimately want that. GL whatever you end up doing
I would certainly have interest in a car like yours. Its so well done and to perfect specs.
I have had variations of the three cars you’re interested in: Challenge Stradale, RSR recreation and F355 (spider). I agree, going fast in a slow/small/old car is more fun (I would think your GT3 is of the last cars/most modern cars similar to what you’re looking for). The CS was terrific - stripped out, 425hp was plenty, great noises. RSR recreation (depending upon motor - mine had a 2.7L with high lift cams) was super fun bc it was so light, small and fun to rev out. You heard everything. The F355 (and, to me, 90s cars in general) can be a little disappointing. It def buzzes/fizzes like you want from a Ferrari, but it’s underpowered relative to what you expect and I found, even with a Challenge exhaust, it didn’t sound as hoped. It did rev quite a bit (8,500 RPM redline).
You could also think about: DB4, Ghibli, 365 GT 2+2, dry sump 308, Alfa GTV (modified) as other really interesting, great-sounding, fun to drive vintage cars that are more “reasonably” priced relative to what you’re looking for/proceeds from your GT3.

Not to intrude but I have a 997.2 gt3 with less than 20k miles with a sw 3.9 full dundon exhaust, dundon intake plenum, dundon airbox, cup gears, motion coilovers, etc and that's tempting haha
Do you have the OEM seats? Would you be interested in parting in the Recaro's or the OEM seats?
I don't have the stock sofas, otherwise I'd gladly pull out the Recaros and return to stock. If you can find a pair, I'd definitely consider swapping back to OEM.

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye out for a DB 2/4 MKIII and a Maserati 3500. I've flirted with the idea of a GTV in the past but have mixed feelings about a 4 cylinder engined fun car. A DB4 and a Ferrari 330 is like twice the money of this so those are out of the equation for now. I do have a Ferrari 360 spider out for PPI as of today though. We'll see how that comes back tomorrow. Would like to scratch the Ferrari itch first I think. It's been there for awhile and the 360 F1 Spiders are dirt cheap again.
What a car.. I remember your 996 sale to get this and cant believe its up for sale so soon. sounds like your going to do the 360. POST PICS!!! Also - Have you driven modern american cars? I had a ct5 blackwing in manual, best modern fun car I have had in a very long time. not fancy and Practical for everyday too.
Sorry to see this.
If you trade for a 360 Modena, it will be a significant downgrade IMO (and I doubt that the 355 would be any better dynamically).
I had one.
Interesting car, but I went back to my 6 GT3 with no regrets

You're probably not wrong but one is an experience car and the other is possibly the best modern era GT car you can buy (or one of the all time). What I think I want right now is a quirky experience car. Something that is an event to just drive down through the city to run errands or a leisurely stroll across Mulholland in the evening when the weather is nice. I've never really enjoyed the GT3s (well, the straight piped 996 GT3 was a hoot running errands in) in both of those settings, which these days, is the primary use case for my toy cars. I could probably be fine with just the Defender since it does both of those exceptionally well but I know not being able to partake in the occasional performance oriented car stuff will bother me.
With all that said, I still need to finalize paperwork but with any luck this will be in the garage by the weekend:
Enjoy it! Experiences are the best part of living! Personal opinion, but I also feel that a 360 is more of an “event” car for everyday situations relative to a GT3. And the 360 is still modern car powerful. Congrats!
Wow...that is quite the acquisition-- it definitely screams "experience" even just sitting still. Cheers to you and enjoy that beauty! Mission accomplished
