I have a 991.2 engine cover with Carbon Fiber air inlet duct for a turbo or turbo s. I had it on my 991.1 that was wrapped and when I went to remove the wrap it pulled the paint. Therefore it needs to be stripped and then painted. All the pieces are included and if you were going to buy this setup from the dealer you would be into it close to $2000. It really updates the rear of the car.

Any modifications needed to a 991.1 to make this fit or is it a plug and play? Are the slats removable along with the CF center duct (in order to have painted)?

No modifications needed to a 991.1. Some bolts to remove but a direct fit. And yes the slats all come out as does the center duct. In the picture I just placed them for reference purposes since they are all loose currently. Let me know if you have anyother questions.

Just to be clear, this is true for the 991 turbo. I think for other models it would take mods given the function of the ductwork.
