Description:

Well... here's a listing I didn't ever think i'd make when I bought this car.

To be honest, the only reason this car is listed right now is because something I never thought would happen has happened... another car that I really love, in my EXACT order specification has come up for sale. If that wasn't the case, this car wouldn't be listed, and if that car sells before I can sell this, I will be taking down this sale listing.

That said, I don't want to waste anyone's time, so let me get thru the good and the not as good quickly.

This is not a garage queen, if you're going to treat this like a BringATrailer auction comments section and lose your mind over little things, this isn't the car for you. If you want a car you can actually drive with little to no guilt, that sounds amazing, handles better than anything, and will put a smile on your face every time you take it out, this is for you. This car presents extremely well for it's mileage. I bought this car from the first owner, so I am passing along all of the information and stories of the car he gave me first hand. I have all of his service records going back to 2020, which is when he switched from dealer service to a Porsche independent near him. Car was dealer serviced from new to 2020, I also have all of my records.

Main points:
2016 GT4 in Sapphire Blue
63,000 Miles (will go up slightly, drive this car guilt free as I have!)
Steel Brakes (Has AP Racing Essex J Hook Rotors and Track Pads (unsure of pad)
18 Way Seats - Leather/Alcantara with Yellow Stitch
PCM4 Retrofit - Huge Upgrade!
FULL 718 GT4 Yellow Stitch Interior with Carbon Fiber Trim (everything fully OEM) Door panels, dashboard, lower dash, center console, armrest, all parts swapped for OEM 718 interior.
GMG Roll Cage
Second set of OZ racing wheels with whatever tires are on there (don't remember) will be included with the sale
RSNV wing risers (have stock also)

The Good/My Service History/What I've done in the last year:

  • 61k miles - Porsche Dealer Serviced for Air Filter, Oil Change, and Spark Plugs. I had them go thru the car as well and they gave it a clean bill of health except for the engine compartment purge fans being broken, which their own foreman told me I would be fine to ignore safely if I wanted to, he said they break easily as they ingest crap from the side scoops. At the same time, I had them take an oil sample for Blackstone Labs, and I had the oil tested, which came back clean for the amount of miles the oil went (wasn't exactly sure how long it had been), etc. Happy to share the report.
  • Brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires less than 2k miles ago
  • Alignment less than 2k miles ago
  • OEM Wheels refinished in OEM Satin Platinum Finish with new OEM Satin Platinum Center Caps
  • Removed all original paint protection film, replaced with brand new Xpel PPF on front bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, mirrors, roof, rear wheel arches, full side skirts, and scoops.
  • Entire car 3 stage polished and ceramic coated
  • Brand new windshield film to protect from stone chips, this was pretty expensive but worth it to protect the OEM glass.
  • Brand new headlight lenses - old ones were spider cracking
  • Replaced OEM fog lights that were pitted with new OEM fog lights
  • Replaced all front bumper plastics, including fog surrounds, with new OEM pieces
  • New front lip, and side spoilers that go up the sides of the bumper
  • Removed all front bumper grilles and had them freshly powder coated due to the years of slow wear chipping away at the original finish
  • Fresh OEM hood and rear bumper badges (just years of sun fading so I replaced)
  • OEM Clear LED Corners
  • OEM GT4 Carbon Fiber Door Sill Plates
  • XPEL 45% PRIME Tint - Nice and light, classy look, blocks a ton of UV and heat.
  • Suspension was rebuilt with brand new shocks at 46k by the previous owner
  • I'm sure a lot of other small things that I can't remember
  • The main takeaway here is that this has been inspected by a dealer that I paid to hold nothing back, and other than the engine compartment purge fans, they found no problems. I have had two Porsche Shop Foreman drive this car and tell me that it feels and drives strong, and that I have nothing to worry about
The not so good:
  • When we removed all of the old paint protection film, 99% of it came off with no problem, but a small piece of clearcoat on the lower front bumper came off (less than 1inx1in square). I opt'd not to repaint the bumper over this, it's not something you see unless you look for it or are close.
  • Scratch on the driver side door, and one on the rear bumper on the passenger side. Other than this, the car really is in excellent condition.
  • As mentioned, engine compartment purge fans are broken, I was told by a Porsche foreman I could safely ignore and deal with this whenever I wanted.
  • It has a bad CarFax, but a clean title. No rebuilt or salvage, I was told by the first and original owner it was from a track accident. There is NO accident on the CarFax, it just shows a damage report with minor damage on the front. I have the CarFax handy.
  • When I bought the car, the DME shows over-rev's in all ranges, 1-6. I was told by my local Porsche foreman to basically ignore it based on how the car drives, combined with my oil sample report showing clean and such. My local foreman also thinks the report may be inaccurate. He said that in his opinion, the DME report makes no sense, as it shows more in range 4 than it does in 3, despite the fact that you need to pass thru 3 to get to 4. That all said, the last major over-rev event was more than 100 hours old when I bought the car, and is now likely more than 150 hours past.

This is all I can remember for the time being. I was apprehensive when I decided to buy the car, until the owner told me to come and drive it, and that all my concerns would be alleviated. So I did, I flew out, drove it, and immediately agreed to buy. At the end of the day, the car does it's core function perfectly: drives. I've put thousands of miles on it since I got it, despite it being the middle of the winter when I drove it home cross country with no issues. I have put a ton of love and money into this car and had no intention of selling it, but ever since I saw the listing for this other vehicle, I can't get it out of my head, so until and unless that sells, this will be available. This car has a lien on it that I will get released once funds are received and will be able to give you a clear New York Title.

Trying my best, hah. I've been racking my brain trying to make sure I cover everything. I wrote this last night, sat on it, came back this morning, re-read, edited, etc

I want this to be a simple value transaction, I hate for sale ads that force you to pry information from the seller.

Hi there is is Jon from Northern Cal and I must confess I've been lurking around for quite some time now. I'm new to the forum so I can't send private messages yet

I appreciate your candor in writing this post. In fact, I thought I would take the same approach when I sell my cars that are "definitely not garage queens".

Can we chat more in private?

Hi, I'm very interested and would love to touch base about the car as well. I'm (strangely enough) also based out of SF and new to this forum, but am serious about the car. If Jon is correct, I guess I can't DM, but it looks like I can receive them?

I am hesitant to put personal contact info public with the amount of scam messages I've gotten from Rennlist in the past, but anyone who is interested and unable to message me can email me at 6mtscott@protonmail.com

As far as I know I was the first person to attempt it, fun times! Turned out to be pretty simple, tedious, but simple.
